Directions for Finding Mill Cottage

You will find Mill Cottage exactly one half-mile on the Edinburgh side of Romanno Bridge, which is a small village 4 miles from West Linton in Peeblesshire.

We are 18 miles from the centre of Edinburgh, and 30 miles from Edinburgh Airport. The Edinburgh City By-pass which is 14 miles away gives easy access to Glasgow as well as all the attractions of the Central belt and beyond.

Romanno Bridge is ideally placed for exploring the beautiful countryside of the Borders, or for making a city visit, with the bus stopping on request just outside the cottage. No worries about finding a parking spot in Edinburgh, and a scenic journey into town.

Approaching from Edinburgh

Take the A701 Road and branch off at Leadburn on the road to Moffat, still following the A701. After 7 miles, you will see the road to West Linton going off on the right. Continue to drive a little further along the A701, and at the 40mph sign, slow down. Damside is on the bend of the road on the right. At the end of our neighbour's solid wooden fence, you will see our driveway leading down from the road, in front of bushes and our house. Drive down past our house to find Mill Cottage at the other end of the driveway

Approaching from Romanno Bridge

Take the A701 from Moffat to Romanno Bridge, and you will find our other driveway down from the road, exactly half a mile from the village, immediately in front of the house. Should you miss this - go on a 300 yards to turn safely at the next little road junction on the right, and come in the other driveway. Each driveway has an easy way in and out - so don't try to make a sharp turn .

We are always around to welcome you, so please give us a phone as you approach Romanno Bridge, so that we can help by coming out to the driveway to wave you in.

Please do not depend on Google Maps or SatNav, as they often place us, confusingly, on the wrong side of the road!
